A Quick Note!

Happy Sunday! Hope everyone is having an amazing weekend. It is 86 degrees in Boston at the moment and absolutely beautiful so even though I really don't want to be inside at a computer right now I have just one thing I need to mention. Tina over at Luphia Loves... was sweet enough to ask me to be her giveaway sponsor this week, so that means that anyone who leaves a comment on one of her posts through this coming Saturday has the chance to win a giveaway! From me! Tina will choose the winner at random and that person will have their choice of any of my paper goods items- single cards, note sets or notepads, (there are a few rules and regulations so please see the post right here). I will then send you the item and will probably even write a little note and throw in an extra something something. Because I'm nice. So go, leave a comment! I don't even care if it's not about me.

Hihi

And hi. Today is a day where I drank too much coffee and am trying to do too many things so I feel scared (from the coffee) and a little stressed (from the things) but I'm trying to make it all work. I'm currently working on a little freelance job, which is fun and kind of different from what I usually do, so that's cool. But that also means I haven't had much time to work on the new illustration I introduced to you a few weeks back. In fact this is as far as I've gotten:

Ha. Pretty sad. But you see where I'm going, right? And what else? I also wanted to thank and mention Lisa for her lovely post about my stuff a couple weeks ago on her newborn blog Olivejuice, dedicated to all things artsy/designy/fashiony here in Boston. I'm not sure we have anything like this here already so I'm very excited to see what Lisa does with it! Please go have a look and if you're an artist/designer/craftsperson in the area I know Lisa would love to hear from you.

Other than that I just finished up an interview that I'm veeerrryy excited about which I will share more details on when it comes out, for fear that the publication in question will think my answers are superboring and decide not to use it! Well, not really, but you never know. So more on that in May.

And last but not least because I feel bad that this post is so lacking in visual aids, here is a small but impressive picture of an amazing kitten.

I will regret that when the caffeine wears off later, I'm sure, but enjoy! Happy Wednesday.

There's a New Print in Town

Almost! I should say that it's not quite here, but super close- like you just heard it pull into the driveway and right now its keys are jangling at the front door. Both an 8.5 x 11 and a 12x15ish version of We Grew Together will be in the shop tomorrow afternoon. You remember this, right? From way back? The scanning issues, all that? Took me awhile to get it to print but I did it!

I have nothing else of real interest to report. I am, however, hoping to find a good home for a 12x15 print of Lengthening I made a few days ago that has a very small defect. Sometimes even my beloved printer makes a mistake and in this case the image area is perfectly fine but there are some grayish smudges in the white border. If it was matted you would never know the difference, so I'd hate for this to get tossed. I'm hoping someone out there might like to snatch it up for a cool 15 bones, versus the regular 28. If that someone might be you please let me know and I'll totally post it in the shop for you.

Thanks kids.

Bits of Things

Not too much to report this morning, but thought I would share a couple of things I've been working on.

A very new illustration. So far just a drawing in colored pencil. I'm into drawing lots and lots of lines lately, so this could take some time and a lot of my patience, but I'm trying really hard this week not to get distracted by other projects and just work on this until it's done. And speaking of projects to get distracted by...

...there's this, the in-progress product of all that cutting I was doing last week. Unfortunately a lot of it ended up being in vain, as I changed my mind a couple of times about the type of paper I wanted to use after having already cut maybe a hundred flowers. I was really loving the natural looking, fibrous quality and creamy color of some handmade paper I'd bought awhile back, but it ended up being a little too thin to hold any kind of shape, and when mounted on the wall the flowers just didn't read as clearly as I would've hoped. Also, I decided it would be really cool if the flowers looked like they were made from the same material as the wall- like they were part of the wall and actually growing out of it. Sooo, back to basics! A simple, smooth stock in soft white that matches the paint in our bedroom. I've got about 5-6 more feet of space to cover before this is done, but I'm trying to ignore it until that new piece is absolutely finished. It's tough having to make these crazy bargains with myself in order to get anything done.

More later. Happy Wednesday!
